Projects

CEC works on a vast range of projects in the commercial, industrial, energy and resources sectors.

We are ideally located on the rim of the progressive Surat Basin region and can configure teams for projects both large and small, over short time frames or long term. We pride ourselves on excellent relationships with both our clients and our suppliers.

Braemar 2 Power Station

Braemar 2, completed in June 2009, is an integrated, 450MW open-cycle, gas-fired power station and 110km high-pressure gas pipeline network located 40km southwest of Dalby.

CEC was engaged by principal contractor Bilfinger Berger to undertake each grid installation and testing, installation and connection of construction power and cable ladder, and supply of materials including earth grid cable and conduit. CEC owns the appropriate testing equipment for this type of work.

"CEC came recommended to us. They have good experience and it's also great to see them giving apprentices exposure to commercial work sites. I developed one-on-one rapport with each team member working on our site. They were very responsible, very capable and fitted well into the construction environment. I would definitely use CEC again."
~ Terry Harper, E&I Superintendent, Braemar 2 Project - Bilfinger Berger.

Feedlot Industry

CEC is an integral part of the operations at Aronui Feedlot located near Dalby.

The feedlot, which is run by Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) is one of the largest in Australia with an average capacity of 17,000 head of cattle. CEC also works closely with the team at Sandalwood Feedlot - another large feedlot located in the Dalby region. At both locations, CEC looks after all electrical maintenance and installation for the grain storage, milling, mixing, handling and control systems.

"We have been working with CEC for about nine years now and have found them to be technically advanced. The sheer volume of people they can provide is great and they work well as a team. We recently had a major capital upgrade to our feed mill at Aronui which CEC had planned well - so everything ran very smoothly."
~ Greg Gibbons, Group Manager, Wagyu Operations, AACo.

Construction / Earthworks / Mining Sites

CEC has undertaken a range of projects with leading civil engineering and construction company, Ostwald Bros.

The CEC team has set up and maintained the electrical aspects of Ostwald's quarry sites and concrete batching plants; and constructed and installed the switchboard and wiring for its new purpose-built workshop in Dalby. Other jobs include wiring for temporary construction camps, doing the associated electrical work for irrigation and water infrastructure, and data and network installations. CEC has also partnered with Ostwalds when tendering for other large projects in the construction and mining industries.

"We have enjoyed a long term relationship with the team at CEC and have always found them to be great to deal with. They are very obliging, and their workmanship is first class. I'd describe CEC as low fuss - high quality."
~ Brendan Ostwald, Managing Director, Ostwald Bros.
